Description: The Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA), is a public organization providing transportation throughout Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden and Worcester Counties. The FRTA and provides demand/response transportation to eligible LifePath clients, residents currently living in a nursing home facility or Veterans with a disability rating of 70% or greater or residents who are 60 years of age or old living in the  in the towns of Leyden, Greenfield, Montague and Gill.   FRTA also provide rides for those who are under 60 if they qualify for Masshealth or ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) transportation. The under 60 individual should contact the FRTA at 413-774-2262 ext. 0 for information on how to apply for Masshealth and/or ADA transportation.FARES: All one way trips that originate and end within the same town: $1.75 All one way trips to an adjacent town that are within our service: $2.25 All one way trips beyond an adjacent town that are within our service: $2.75All trips to Senior Centers are $.75 (intown trips), $1.00 (adjacent town trips) and $1.25 (beyond adjacent towntrips). Fares listed are for one-way There is an escort/PCA fee of $.75 for each one-way trip and they must be there to assist the passenger with the trip (not there to do their own errands).SERVICE AVAILABILITY: Currently, service is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 5:30am and 7:30pm and on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. There are specific days and times set aside for grocery shopping trips.
