The BLT is a door-to-door, public transportation service provided by the Town of Bedford. The service is part funded by a grant from MassDOT and the M.B.T.A.
The BLT offers on-demand service to destinations in the town of Bedford. Same day rides must be arranged between 7:30 am and 8:30 am daily.
In-town medical rides require 3 days notice. Weekly trips to Market Basket in Billerica are provided on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. These rides require advanced reservations, as seating is limited. No other out of town rides are available at this time.
The BLT is available to all town residents. It is equipped with ADA compliant features and operates using a wheelchair-accessible van.
Priority is given to disabled, elderly, and veteran riders per the MassDOT grant.
FARES:
ADULT: (ages 18-64)
$2.00 each way in-town and $4.00 each way for weekly Market Basket Trip.
YOUTH (under 18), VETERANS, SENIORS & MEDICARE CARE CARD HOLDERS:
$1.00 each way in-town and $2.00 each way for weekly Market Basket Trip.
All passengers are required to pay their fare upon boarding the van.
BLT CARDS:
$20.00 each, are redeemable for 25 X $1 fares.
