Volunteer Medical Transportation
Medical transportation is available for Andover residents for medical appointments throughout Andover and surrounding towns. We do have a limited number of drivers who will go to Boston for midday appointments. Our volunteer drivers are trained Andover residents who focus on passenger safety. This program relies on donations. Riders are permitted two donation rides per month. Trips exceeding two per month are fee based. Please contact the Robb Center for details on fees and scheduling. This is a curb-to-curb service and riders must be independent in accessing the vehicle or provide their own Aide. Drivers are unable to assist passengers in and out of the vehicle or into their appointment. We can not transport people on oxygen. You can receive transportation services through MVRTA if you are on oxygen.
Medical Transportation for Day Procedures
No need to put off that medical procedure! This program is for day procedures requiring anesthesia. We have partnered with an agency to provide a specialized ride with a dedicated aide to be your responsible party and driver. The aide will pick you up at home, drive you to your appointment and sign you out after your procedure. They will bring you home and make sure you are comfortable. This program is partially funded through a MassDOT grant and is available until June 30, 2026. There is no charge for the service but mileage and parking fees apply.
