Description: Transportation for local medical appointments are provided based on availability. Please schedule transportation with them as soon as you book your medical appointment. Last minute scheduling will only be accommodated if the schedule permits. Minimal donations per trip at $3.00 each way are sought to help cover the expenses of the transport and the vehicles needed to transport in. This service is only available to Weymouth seniors 60+. Please call transportation to schedule local medical appointments and to inquire more about this service (781-682-3824).

Seniors now have the opportunity to schedule transportation to and from their homes to the senior center. Two vans will be available to transport you to and from your favorite programs at the senior center. Need a ride to exercise class? Need a ride to the writers’ workshop? Maybe you need a ride to the senior center to meet with a SHINE representative or need an in-person appointment with Outreach? If you are independently able to get in and out of the elder services vans, they are able to add to you the list of riders. The cost to use this service will be $1.00 each way or $2.00 roundtrip and will be first come first serve until they figure out how many people wish to use the service. To start you can schedule no more than two trips per week so the service can be utilized by as many seniors as possible. This ACTIVITY based transportation should be scheduled with the Activities Coordinator Barbara Hughes. Please call 781-682-3813.

For persons 60+ unable to access other modes of transportation, service to medical appointments to non-surrounding towns and Boston area hospitals or physicians is available, subject to funding through a contracted service. Appointments must be made through Weymouth Elder Services (781-331-3921). The program is funded in part by a Title IIIB grant of the Older Americans Act through South Shore Elder Services, a Community Development Glock Grant, a grant from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, donations, and municipal funding, and the number of trips may be limited. A donation of 25% of the cost of the ride is suggested.
