- Description: Medical Transportation Program – Masks RequiredThe Medical Transportation Program provides Belchertown’s older residents the opportunity for an assisted ride to and from medical appointments. Although the drivers may offer assistance, clients must be able to transfer safely and independently in and out of their homes, the driver’s vehicle, and the medical building. At this time, we are unable to accommodate long-term medical appointments such as dialysis, radiation or chemotherapy. We greatly appreciate the financial support for this program through donations from clients served, their families, local citizens, and area businesses. The program is funded by a Federal Title IIIB grant through WestMass Elder Care, our local Aging Service Access Point, and by funding from the Older Americans Act through the Massachusetts Office of Elder Affairs and the Administration for Community Living.
