Service Area: Everywhere within NewtonHoliday Closures: NewMo is closed for federal holidays: New Year’s Day, MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, as well as Patriots’ Day and JuneteenthHow it worksTo book a ride on demand, riders can enter their pickup and drop off addresses into the NewMo mobile app. The app will then match the rider with a vehicle heading their way. Riders will be picked up and dropped off at the nearest corner. Riders can go anywhere throughout Newton. Booking is also available through our support line, and wheelchair accessible vehicles are available upon request.Getting startedCreate an account. Download the NewMo app (search for “NewMo Newton in Motion”) from the App Store or Google Play Store and follow the simple signup steps.Book a ride. Enter your pickup and drop off addresses and choose the ride option that works for you.Meet your driver. The app will show you exactly where to meet your driver — it’s usually a nearby corner, which helps minimize detours. Community PartnershipsThe public cost of a ride is $2, but we’re offering local businesses and organizations the option to cover the cost of rides for their members (e.g. employees, students, staff, visitors, etc.).Organizations that choose to purchase rides will receive a promocode to distribute to their members. Members can enter the promo code within their mobile app, which will unlock the agreed upon custom discount. NewMo Senior ServiceIf you are over 60 years of age, your best bet typically is to enroll in the NewMo senior service, as opposed to the commuter service. Both cost $2 per trip and allow you to travel anywhere in Newton. Advantages of the NewMo senior service include: 1. Door-to-door service, as opposed to corner-to-corner service2. Seniors can go to certain medical facilities outside of Newton3. Weekend service, 9 am to noon4. Ability to pre-book rides for medical appointmentsAt this point, seniors can choose the senior service (residents 60 and older) or the commuter service, but not both.
