- Description: Center for Active Living is a department of the Town of Tyngsborough.
The van service is provided to eligible residents of Tyngsborough. The van travels to Dracut, Lowell, Chelmsford, Nashua, and Hudson for medical appointments, social activities, shopping, and other errands (post office, barber, etc). Reservations must be made at least two days in advance with appointments scheduled M-F between 9:30 and 2 pm. Please call for the latest schedule.
The COA mission is to advocate on behalf of senior citizens, to enhance the quality of their lives through the identification and assessment of their health, economic, social and cultural needs.
The Senior “News & Tyngs” is a monthly publication that has a complete calendar of programs, events, educational and informative articles. The Newsletter is available at the The Center for Active Living and many other locations throughout Tyngsborough. Post Office, Town Hall, and Library. Also available on the town website: www.tyngsboroughma.gov under departments, COA. Special Events During the year The Center for Active Living has many events for seniors where they can come and socialize. These include breakfasts, holiday parties, cookouts, potluck, luncheons, and celebrations.
Seniors Focal Point for Town Events/Programs
The Center for Active Living is the focal point for groups and clubs such as the Tyngsboro Sportsmen’s club, Tyngsboro Schools, Greater Lowell Vocation School, Innovation Academy, Recreation Department, Library and Police Department by posting their events and managing sign up sheets.
