- Description: The Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) serves 41 communities in Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester counties. In 2006, FRTA merged with the Greenfield Montague Transportation Area (GMTA) to create a single agency responsible for the entire region. Of the 41 towns in FRTA’s service area, 11 receive some form of fixed-route service and the remainder receive demand response service. All FRTA fixed-route service connects in Greenfield. REGULAR FARES:No bus fares will be collected through June 30, 2024. This applies to FIXED ROUTES ONLY! ROUTES:Route #20 (GreenLink Connector) Route #21 (Greenfield Community) Route #22 (BlueLink Connector) Route #23 (Sunderland/Greenfield) Route #24 (Crosstown Connector)Route #31 (Northampton/Greenfield) Route #32 (Orange/Greenfield) Route #41 (Charlemont/Greenfield) 1/2 PRICE FARES ($.75): Passengers with statewide Access Passes, ADA cards, Active Military and Veterans, Medicare card holders, students through grade 12 and persons over 60 FREE FARES: Passengers with Commission for the Blind cards, Children under 5 with fare paying adult TRANSFERS: Free passenger transfers are available between bus routes at the JWO Transit Center in downtown Greenfield, and at “Avenue A and 3rd St”, “Avenue A and Hubies Tavern”, and “Avenue A and Shea Theater” in downtown Turners Falls.
