- Description: We are happy to be able to provide curbside transportation to Fairhaven seniors, 60 years old and older, via our COA vans or by medical transportation volunteers. Please call the Fairhaven Senior Center at 508-979-4029 with any transportation requests or questions.
IN-TOWN TRANSPORTATION
– Monday through Friday, 8am-12pm
– Trips to/from medical appointments in Fairhaven (Southcoast on Mill Rd), barber shops/hairdressers, pharmacies, banks, therapy, stores, etc.
– Fares: there is no charge for this transportation, however, a donation is gratefully accepted.
There is a limited number of 10 people per day so we ask that you call the senior center as soon as you know when you will be needing a ride. We also ask that you limit your outing to one place per day.
VOLUNTEER DRIVER FOR MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION
– Local transportation to medical appointments in the Greater New Bedford/Dartmouth area
– COA coordinates the trip between the volunteer driver and senior if the volunteer driver is available
– Fares: no fee, however a donation of $10 for in-town and out-of-town trips is suggested to assist with the cost of fuel
SPECIAL TRIPS
Every Wednesday, the Fairhaven COA van provides a trip to a mall or casino.
Fairhaven seniors are considered first for special trips, however, a list of out-of-town seniors is kept in the event there are seats available.
Reservations for the Wednesday mall trips must be phoned into the Fairhaven COA after the 15th of the current month for the following month trips.
No food or beverage is allowed on the van.
