- Description: The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA), is one of 15 Regional Transit Authorities within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has been providing public transportation services since 1976 to residents and visitors as well as consumers of state agencies and human service organizations for all 15 Cape Cod communities. Cape Cod (Barnstable County) towns include Barnstable, Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Dennis, Eastham, Falmouth, Harwich, Mashpee, Orleans, Provincetown, Sandwich, Truro, Wellfleet and Yarmouth. The CCRTA owns and operates the Hyannis Transportation Center in downtown Hyannis and the CCRTA Operations and Maintenance Facility in South Dennis.Fixed Routes: Sealine: Connects the Hyannis Transportation Center to Woods Hole (Steamship Authority) docks via Route 28 and Woods Hole Rd. H20 Hyannis-Orleans: Travels from Downtown Hyannis to Orleans Center via Route 28 and Route 39. Barnstable Villager: Travels between Downtown Hyannis (HTC) and the Barnstable Courthouse via Route 132 and Route 6A. Hyannis Crosstown: Connects downtown Hyannis to local shopping plazas and other popular Hyannis locations. FLEX: The Flex picks up and drops off passengers at designated stops and also flexes off its route up to ¾ of a mile to serve people who have difficulty getting to a regular bus stop. Reservations are required for the off route stops. The Flex travels from Route 28 in Harwich, Over Queen Anne to Route 137, to Brewster on Route 6A, down Route 6, then Shore Rd to Provincetown The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) will be launching expanded early morning and late-night service to the Town of Provincetown beginning May 5, 2023. This pilot is aimed at providing additional transportation options for Provincetown workers during the town’s expanded shoulder season and throughout the summer and will also provide additional opportunities for residents and visitors to use CCRTA’s service. Bourne Run: Travels between Buzzards Bay Train Station to Mashpee Commons via Scenic Highway, County Road, Route 28A, and Route 151. Sandwich Line: The Sandwich Line travels between Downtown Hyannis, through Sandwich, to Buzzards Bay Train Station via route 28, Oak St, Race Lane, Farmersville Road , Cotuit Road , Route 130 and Route 6A. Provincetown Shuttle: Provincetown Shuttles consisting of the Beach Shuttle traveling between MacMillian Pier and Race Point Beach and Herring Cove Beach and the Provincetown to North Truro Shuttle connecting MacMillian Pier to the Camping Resort. Hyannis Trolley: The Hyannis Trolley is a summer service that operates between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The service operates from 10:30am to 9:15pm on a 45 minute schedule continuously throughout the day. The Hyannis Area Trolley begins at the Hyannis Transportation Center and travels down Main Street to Sea Street, South Street, to Old Colony Road to service the waterfront parking, then up Ocean Street to the Ocean Street Docks and the waterfront attractions and returns to the Transportation Center. The Steamship Authority Ferry Dock is available on request; just ask the driver to stop there. Passengers may board the Trolley at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the bus down anywhere along the bus route. The Hyannis Area Trolley connects at the Hyannis Transportation Center with the Barnstable Villager, the Hyannis Crosstown, the Sealine, the H2O Line, the Plymouth & Brockton bus service to Boston, and to the Peter Pan bus service to Boston, Providence and New York.Whoosh Trolley: The Whoosh Trolley travels from the Falmouth mall, down Route 28, and turns onto Woods Hole Road, to the Steamship Authority. Passengers of the Whoosh Trolley can conveniently transfer to the Sealine throughout the day at the Falmouth Mall. Passengers may board the Trolley at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the bus down anywhere along the bus route. The WHOOSH trolley costs $2.00 unless you are transferring from the Sealine. This is the only free transfer in the CCRTA system. All other transfers are full fare.Fares: Exact fare only. Drivers will not make change. Fixed Route buses have fareboxes which can issue a change ticket to be used on subsequent rides. (Adults & Youth | Age 60+ & Disabled) One Way: $2 | $1 1-Day Unlimited: $6 | $3 31-Day Unlimited: $60 | $30 Children age five and younger, with an adult, ride free.
