Description of Services
The Needham Council on Aging (COA) provides transportation services to residents 60+ years old and people with Disabilities. The service is wheelchair accessible. Rides are to and from the Senior center from riders home only.
The COA van requires a minimum 24-hour notice to schedule a ride. Also, cancelations calls are a must so other riders request can be accommodated. The driver will call once they are on their way to pick-up a rider so there is no need to wait outside until then. Riders in wheelchairs must be independent as the driver is unable to provide additional assistance if needed.
Riders must have a working cell phone and number to communicate.

FARES: $1.00 per ride $2.00 per round trip
Medical transportation option:
The Needham Community Council also offers a limited transportation service for medical appointments only. The service is provided through LYFT and is consider a last resort for a rider with no other options.
The service is FREE, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Reservations must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Rider must be able to get in and out of the car independently. This is limited to appointments in town or adjacent to Needham.
